We’ve been spoilt to have some exceptional speakers over the years, too many to list. Given our central location, we’re able to arrange speakers from wide and far. We’ve also been extremely lucky to have had some international tiers demonstrate at the club in or around the time of the British Fly Fair.
Frank has been tying flies since the age of sixteen, having started fishing at the age of ten. His early interest in coarse fishing slowly diminished and he became, almost exclusively, a chaser of fish on the fly.
Paul’s passion is for dressing salmon flies, the classics. He most enjoysdressing the grubs, Spey flies and those flies that most people have forgotten.
Karl is a renowned fly fishing instructor, guide and fly dresser having qualified with many international game angling associations.
Robert is a critically acclaimed author of The North Country Fly: Yorkshire’s Soft Hackle Tradition. Over the years he has been fortunate enough to have written various articles on fly fishing and fly tying in a variety of magazines including Salmon, Trout & Sea Trout, Fly Fishing & Fly Tying, Salmon and Trout. And the Fly Dressers Guild own publication Flydresser.
Stuart is passionate about entomology and the protection of our rivers and the English countryside. He is a member of the Salmon and Trout Association, Wild Trout Trust, Grayling Society, Anglers Trust, Countryside Alliance and the Fresh Water Biological Association.
Since 1990, Skuli has been tying salmon flies and tubes professionally. In 1998 he started guiding in West and East Rangá for angling club Lax-á the largest salmon and trout outfitter in Iceland. Before that, he was guiding in West Ranga for Angling service Strengir.
